Summer Reading 2019 registration & ticket information

We have an awesome children’s (birth to those entering grade 6 in the fall of 2019) summer reading program this year! (there’s a separate summer reading program for teens) Participation in the reading part of the program will require registration, as will participation in the Writer’s Camp and attending either of the Bakken Museum workshops. You will also need tickets (free!) to attend the American Girl Tea Party/Fashion Show and the Minnesota Zoo Zoomobile. However, you do NOT need to register for our summer movies, Wii gaming, storytimes or any of the other special events. You DO need to register to be eligible for prizes (Colvill pool passes, summer treat coupons, books, etc) earned through reading and keeping track of that reading on our reading log. The registration form is below (you’ll need to have Javascript enabled); you can also register in person at the library. Once you’ve registered you can pick up your summer reading packet from the service desk at the library. Each packet will include 2 reading logs to get you started. As in previous years, a child who reads or does any of several other reading related activities listed on the log for 20 minutes a day for 7 days (days do not have to be consecutive) can turn in the completed reading log at the service desk and receive a prize. Please note that summer reading officially begins Monday, June 10 and thus the earliest completed reading logs can be turned in is Monday, June 17. The last day to turn in a reading log is Saturday, August 3 by 3:00 PM.
