Summer 2021 Teen Writer’s Camp
Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, and July 1, 2:00 – 3:15 PM
Red Wing Public Library Foot Room
Join youth services librarian Megan Seeland for three weeks of writing! Ideas, prompts and activities, and writing advice on story building, including character development, worldbuilding, plot, conflict, revision, and critiquing. Participating writers must be able to commit to writing at least thirty minutes a day, five days a week outside of camp, and will need to bring their preferred method of writing (paper and pencil, notebook, laptop, etc.) to each session. The end goal is for each writer to have a completed rough draft of a short story by the end of camp!
For writers of creative fiction going into grades 8-12 in the fall. Limit of 12 writers.
All writers will receive a writer’s camp shirt!
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face masks are currently required to be worn inside the library. We are happy to provide masks for any who need them.
