Kanopy
Kanopy is a video streaming service whose motto is “thoughtful entertainment.” Find movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films and educational videos, including hundreds of The Great Courses, that inspire, enrich and entertain. There is also a large selection of educational and entertainment videos for children. It’s a free and ad-free experience that can be enjoyed on your TV, mobile phones, tablets and online. Please note that use of Kanopy is restricted to those who live in Goodhue County and have a library card from the Red Wing Public Library, or those who live outside Goodhue County and have purchased a library card from the Red Wing Public Library.

Learn a foreign language

Mango Languages
Learn a new language for free! Mango Languages is an online language learning service geared toward teaching practical conversational skills. Lessons combine real life situations and audio from native speakers with simple, clear instructions. The courses are presented with an appreciation for cultural nuance and real-world application that integrates components of vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and culture. You will need your library card to access it from outside the library, as well as a modern browser with Adobe Flash. Mango offers over 60 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, English (for Spanish speakers), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Swedish, and Spanish (Latin America).

EBSCO MegaFILE is a multi-disciplinary database providing full text for over 19,100 total publications and indexing & abstracting for nearly 24,000 publications. Coverage spans every area of academic study and general interest subject area and offers information dating as far back as the 1800s. In addition, the database contains more than 85,800 biographies, 118,000 primary source documents, 10,150 company profiles and an image collection of over 502,000 photos, maps and flags. The library has access to other article databases through ELM, but most people will be able to find what they need in this database.
